Addis Zaryan
was born in Tehran, Iran. He came to the United States in 1986 to start a new life with his family by settling in Glendale, California.
His background is in fine arts, computer graphics and animation design. Addis’ education is mainly self-taught with some basic art courses
he had taken while attending GCC (Glendale Community College).
He has worked for many major animation studios such as Nickelodeon, Sony, and Spumco.
Currently Addis works with Disney, designing character-based artwork for consumer products
involving the classic and contemporary Disney characters. He’s also involved in many freelance
assignments, such as background design for animated cartoons and character concept art.
Addis’ favorite thing to do, is illustration (on his site) on his own time. He’s a huge fan of
the 1960’s stylized cartoons and children's book illustration style. He takes this style and creates
simple portraits that have an Armenian feel to it. From a pencil sketch, he uses s computer to finish
the illustrations digitally. He mainly does this to satisfy his “inner Armenian” and to preserve the
national Armenian identity for the next generations to come. His artwork prints have been predominately
displayed at Armenian festivals, and auctioned off at many fund raisers.
Due to the overwhelming response of the public, everything finally fell into place, and with the huge help
from Addis’ wife, Soseh Zaryan, AddiSpace.com was finally created. This site’s only focus is the Addis Zaryan’s
Armenian-based illustrations and products that go along with it. This is only the beginning.
There is so much more to see from Addis Zaryan.
